JFK Airport

Things to remember about JFK airport:

  • Trolley costs USD3!
  • Take the Air Train to get around terminals
  • JetBlue terminal is Terminal 6
  • Thai Airways terminal is Terminal 4
  • Independence Air terminal is also Terminal 4
  • Best way to get in and out of JFK is the NY Airport Service bus which costs only USD15 - I caught it from Grand Central to JFK. The bus stop is at the Park Avenue side, across from Grand Central, by the flyover/bridge. You can buy the ticket at the ticket office there as early as a month before you plan to use it. The bus will stop you at the terminal you need. Driver will usually ask what airline or terminal you will need. Remember to give yourself time for traffic.
  • SuperShuttle is another option to get in and out of JFK. Their area of service is only Manhattan. If you're not familiar of where you have to go then this is the best option. Their rates are fixed and are usually cheaper than taxis. I used them when I was going to Grand Central from JFK - I had a discount voucher from JetBlue so that was good. :-) Also a great way to meet fellow travellers. To book, simply go to the Ground Transportation Desk at the Arrival Hall - it's usually by the area where you pick up your luggage.

UPDATE: 03/01/2006

Independence Air has gone bust.
